North Korea prepares to launch “Satellite”

February 24, 2009, North Korea – North Korea announced that they were about to launch a “communications satellite”. The North Korean media announced that they were in “preparations to launch an experimental communications satellite are now making brisk headway.” North Korea had never stated the date of the experiment. They proclaimed that they will launch a satellite called Kwangmyongsong 2 into space. The North Korean media believed that the successful launch will be considered as “another giant stride forward in building an economic power.” U.S. and South Korean doubt that the North Korean’s intention. U.S. believed that they might be developing a long range missile that could hit them. South Korea’s Defense Minister stated that the North was arranging a missile test, not a satellite launch. A senior researcher at the state-backed Korean Institute of Defense Analyses trusted that the launch is now unavoidable after the North Korean’s announcement. He believed that North Korean will always test their experiments before publicizing it. The example would be the nuclear test in 2006, they had tested the nuclear warhead first, then publicizing it to the rest of the world. North Korea’s previous test had violated the United Nation’s rules and regulations about prohibition of future missile launches since 1718. South Korea’s Foreign Ministry had forewarned that North Korean launch would defy the regulation. A senior analyst of Jane’s Defense Weekly, Joseph Bermudez, was an specialist in studying on North Korea’s missile programs. He indicated that even though the North Koreans were not developing missiles but launching satellites, this would improve their technology. If a country could launch a satellite, this meant that they are capable of launching missiles. Bermudez believe that the North Korean could be launching any time.
Ever since reading the North Korean nuclear test had already horrified me in 2006. Few days ago, finding out the Iranians developing nuclear arms, claiming it was for energy source not weaponry terrified me too. Now, the North Korean are developing a more sophisticated weaponry for war was completely petrified me. I trust that North Korea was developing satellites. But even though they are developing satellites, they were using the research on satellites to build missiles. This satellite might be a missile launching computer system that helps missiles to direct to its targets specifically. I am afraid that North Korea might be arming their country to prepare for war, declaring war on the U.N. If North Korea could not be stopped, there might be a possibility of a World War 3: The Nuclear War. To stop the North Korean from that, the United Nations could be sending in ambassadors into North Korea and ask them to stop. The main reason North Korea is developing these weaponry was because that they are weak and they don’t want other people to know. Just like a barking dog that never bites. They want to show the rest of the world they are all-powerful but they are trying to pretend like something else. They are weak. The United Nations should give them a helping hand on transforming them to a more civilized and developed country. If these plans could not work, I am afraid that this might lead to war. The one starting the war might be either side first, the United Nations; trying to stop North Korea from developing more dangerous weaponry. Or North Korea; their conquest of world domination. Hopefully this will be settled with talks, not with lives. Stop, North Korea, we know that you are pretending something you will never be...without our help.
